Produced by Norwegian manufacturer Westnofa in the 1970s, this lounge chair pairs deeply button-tufted leather cushioning with a sculptural bentwood frame. The X-shaped scissor base features curved, swept legs in dark-stained hardwood, supporting a sling-style seat and back construction that holds the cushion at a relaxed, low-slung angle. Nine distinct tufted sections span the seat and back, secured with button points that define the cushion's segmented profile. The caramel leather retains its medium tan tone throughout. The company was known for pairing quality leather with expressive bentwood and molded frames during the 1960s and 1970s, a period when Norwegian furniture makers were developing their own voice within the broader Scandinavian Modern movement.
