Vintage German S33 Cantilever Leather Chairs by Mart Stam for Thonet, Set of 8

The Thonet S33 is a classic Bauhaus tubular steel furniture from the pen of Mart Stam. Due to the design, the chairs are very comfortable and swing wonderfully. Here in the classic version by Thonet in natural colored leather. The materiality is convincing: the leather quality and thickness, the double stitching and the fabric under-tensioning characteristic of Thonet. But what is particularly eye-catching is the rich patina of the natural leather, which these two specimens have "earned" over the decades and which makes these two chairs so unique. The chairs are of course embossed with Thonet on the underside.
