An iconic “Sigma” ceiling or wall light designed by Sergio Mazza for Artemide in the 1960s, a refined expression of Italian modernist lighting and one of the most recognizable designs from Artemide’s early production. The fixture is defined by its pure circular geometry and by the extraordinary molded pressed-glass diffuser, finely worked with a dense radial pattern. Once illuminated, the glass comes alive, transforming the light into a warm and atmospheric glow while creating a striking sunburst effect that changes subtly according to the viewing angle. The diffuser is embraced by a refined frame in nickel-plated brass, whose understated presence enhances the purity of the silhouette.
