Paul Kingma Attr. Slate Stone Mosaic Coffee Table, Dutch 1970s

$2,750

Attributed to Dutch artist Paul Kingma, this square stone mosaic coffee table was produced in the Netherlands during the 1970s or 1980s. The heavy stone top is composed of multiple slate pieces with a rough natural cleft surface in deep charcoal and slate Gray. Gold-toned brass and gray stone inlay lines cross the surface in a geometric arrangement, meeting near center at a sunburst or compass medallion; a second circular motif appears in the lower right quadrant. The base consists of two folded black sheet metal L-shaped components that form a solid square pedestal when joined, and can also be separated and repositioned. A rectangular version of this table also exists, suggesting workshop production in multiple configurations.
