Mid-Century Modern style three-legged table lamp by Jean Rispal for Maison Rispal, France, 1950s. Composed of a black lacquered iron structure and a lampshade made of light blue pleated cellulose acetate (acrylic commonly called "rhodoïd"), with a white lacquered metal inner structure. The aesthetics of this table lamp lamp is called Sputnik and Spaceship style, and is most typical of the Atomic Era during the 40s, 50s and 60s, where lamps and other objects were designed alluding to the shape of atomic explosions, orbital satellites and the first spaceships that were launched into space.
