Large Pair of 1950s Italian Brass, Black Metal and Opaline Glass Sconces

$4,800

Pair of Italian wall sconces dating from the 1950s, characterized by a slender geometric structure and a refined combination of black lacquered metal, brass and opaline glass. Each fixture features a round brass wall plate supporting a tall black lacquered metal frame with an angular profile. The structure holds a long tapered opaline glass diffuser, suspended from the upper section and completed by small brass details and a shallow brass cap above the glass shade. The contrast between the vertical black frame, the warm brass elements and the satin opaline glass gives the pair a clean and distinctive mid-century Italian character. The elongated glass diffusers provide a soft and even light diffusion, while the linear metal structure creates a light architectural silhouette when installed on the wall. The brass surfaces show a natural vintage patina, with oxidation, tonal variations and signs of age consistent with time and use. The black lacquered metal elements show minor wear and small marks.
