Goffredo Reggiani Cobra Table Lamp, Chrome, Mid-Century, Italy

$2,800

An expressive example of Italian Mid-Century Modern lighting, this Cobra table lamp was designed by Goffredo Reggiani and produced in Italy in the late 1960s. Its polished chrome surfaces, spherical shades, and sinuous double-arm silhouette capture the experimental spirit that defined Italian Space Age design. The lamp is composed of two chrome globes supported by long flexible chrome tubes. These arms can be repositioned to modify the sculptural profile of the lamp and direct each light individually. Its fluid, serpentine form gives the Cobra lamp its distinctive character, making it both a functional light and a striking decorative object. In the configuration shown, the lamp measures approximately 12.6 inches high by 14.2 inches wide by 9.4 inches deep (32 × 36 × 24 cm). Goffredo Reggiani’s designs remain particularly admired for their ability to transform practical lighting into expressive objects, and original examples are increasingly sought after by collectors of postwar Italian design. This vintage Reggiani Cobra table lamp is well suited to a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, modernist, or contemporary interior. It works beautifully as a statement lamp on a console, side table, desk, or low cabinet.
