Dutch Mid-Century frameless two-seat sofa designed by Gerard van den Berg for Montis, known as the "Florence" model and widely referred to as "The Rock." Brown leather upholstery is constructed in panels, with visible seaming across the back, seat face, and front skirt. The piece sits directly on the floor with no frame or legs, its silhouette defined by a tall back, deep reclined seat, and low front lip; the form is at once architectural and enveloping. Gerard van den Berg designed the Florence sofa for Dutch manufacturer Montis during the 1970s.
