Early Pierre Chapo 'Godot' L 01 I Daybed in Solid Elm

This daybed is an early edition designed by the French designer and master woodworker Pierre Chapo (1927-1987), known for his hallmark use of solid elmwood and a commitment to pure and clean design and construction principles. The L01 bed by Pierre Chapo is characterized for its taut, sober design with simple lines and the box joints at the corners of the frame. Chapo designed this daybed in 1959 for the writer Samuel Becket and named it 'Godot', in reference to the play 'Waiting for Godot'.
