Chrome and Clear Lucite Plia Folding Chair by Anonima Castelli, 1970s

Original and signed "Plia" folding chairs in clear lucite with chrome frame. This fantastic chair was designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1967. These folding chairs are made in an elegant clear lucite with a chromed frame and are in perfect conditions (NOS), with no flaws and come with their original box. The "Plia" folding chair is a true design classic as it has won several awards and is also part of the MoMA collection. The "Plia" chair has a fantastic folding mechanism which allows the chair to be folded very flat so that it can be stored easily. Each chair in this set is signed and engraved with the manufacturer's mark. His best-known projects include PLIA, a folding chair, PLATONE, a folding table, DSC (106-AXIS), a seating system for community and institutional spaces, and SISTEMA 61, a modular sofa system.
